Small Square Bajaj Jakarta Indonesian Motif

This scarf was inspired by the activities that happen in Kota Tua Jakarta. The building present in this scarf is the old governor’s office during the Dutch colonization, which also has the writing “Gouverneurs Kantoor” at the top of the building.

Inspired by the chaotic yet playful spirit of Jakarta, we decided to create this inspired by 2 contrasting modes of transportations - the Bajaj and Transjakarta. The Bajaj being an older transportation alternative (that is inseparable from the everyday Jakarta life) and the Transjakarta bus, as a sign for a better Jakarta. On the top left, I drew people walking across the zebra cross and used the traffic light as a playful decoration throughout the scarf. In short, what we wanted to convey is, despite frustrating events in terms of traffic, let’s all try to find joy in the quirks of this city. We hope you guys enjoy it!
